October's Resource of the Month: Willowbank U-Pick Farm

On the 15th of each month, we will be spotlighting a local business, organization, service or non-profit that is either led by Autistic individuals, individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or people who are neurodivergent. Whether it's a sensory-friendly shop or an inclusive service, we want to celebrate and share those who make a difference in our community. For this month, we are excited to spotlight Willowbank U-Pick Farm and Equestrian Stables!

Welcome to our Resource of the Month!

This October, we’re thrilled to spotlight Willowbank U-Pick Farm, an accessible and inclusive apple and pumpkin picking farm located in Port Williams, Nova Scotia.

What is Willowbank U-Pick?

Willowbank U-Pick is a working farm located in Port Williams, Nova Scotia. They are open from September to mid-October (9:00am to 5:30pm), seven days a week - including holidays!

Spotlighting This Month's Pick:

Willowbank U-Pick was chosen as our October resource of the month after we visited their farm with our family. We were impressed with how accessible and inclusive it was. Here's why we chose Willowbank for our October feature:

Accessible to all ages and abilities. The apple orchard is accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, wagons and strollers that can navigate rough terrain.
Easy to read signs are found around the farm so you know what to expect. This includes directions, prices, and clearly indicating where you can go.
Willowbank U-Pick is affordable, with a bracelet for their activities only costing $7.50 and it gives you access to all activities for the day. This includes the bouncy castle, petting zoo/farm, playground, wagon ride, corn maze, picnic area, trail walk, play area, etc.
